DEMANDS AND DISPUTES

1. Right now the two leaders Mr Fakiruddin Khan, the Vice President of Hindustan Motors Sangrami Sramik Karmachri Union and Sarbananda Banerjee, the secretary of Titagarh Wagon Ltd. have been terminated. Two more have been suspended, namely Avash Munshi the secretary of SSKU of Hindustan Motors and Prabir Ganguly, the Vice President of the same union. Besides, false charge-sheets have been served to 135 workers. All these illegal orders of suspension and termination have to be immediately withdrawn.

2. Although a Charter-of-Demand has been submitted on 1st April 2002, in both the factories, the management is least interested in discussing and meeting the just demands. We want that the management must take quick steps to organise the meeting on the Charter-of-Demands.

3. Although there was a bilateral agreement in both the factories that all the Badli workers would be made permanent workers within 2002, the authority has illegally violated it. The state government, too, is not willing to intervene. We demand that the management must honour the agreement and the Government must look into the matter.

4. In 2001, the factory authority has enforced D.A Freeze. The state government, too, created obstructions to send the case to the Tribunal. At last under the instruction of the Kolkata High Court, it was sent to the 5th Industrial Tribunal. Although four years have elapsed, because of the efficient delaying tactics resorted to by the management and CITU, the case remains pending ever now. We demand that this impasse should come to an end.

5. The H.M and HIL SSKU remains elected the Sole Bargaining Agent for the entire period from 19th March 2005 to 18th March, 2007. Still the factory authority has been stubbornly refusing to give recognition to the Union. More over, it has started to unleash illegal, unjust and rabid attacks on the leadership of the union. This thoughtless arrogance on the part of the management should be stopped.

6. In both the factories, the "Thika" (contract) workers have become the victims of inhuman oppression. Twenty three Thika workers of Hindustan Motors remain dismissed from their jobs at this moment. We demand the restoration of jobs and proper dignity of these Thika workers.

7. The authority of TWL has dismissed 68 workers in a very unjust and illegal manner. We demand the reinstatement of these workers.
